I guess I'll start with last Monday. I got my hair cut and highlighted and if I do say so myself, it looks quite nice. I love the color, it's a little shorter than I had in mind... but no real complaints. I tried a new place in Tolland. Bit of a drive... but well worth it in the end. See below for pic:

Wednesday night on my way home from dinner with my mother and little brother I got a frightening phone call. It's the sort of phone call that your heart starts to beat very quickly and no matter what is said, you can't seem to calm down. I answer the phone and it's my bestfriend's husband. The second I heard his voice and not hers I began to panic. He asked if I could come over because she was not feeling well and needed to go to the emergency room. Of course. I get home and speed over there. When I got there it was decided that I would take her to the emergency room and he would stay home with the kiddies. Ok. We go. We get there and the place is packed. Now, it really annoys me when you go to the emergency room and see people in there that you don't feel should be there. They aren't hunched over in pain like my bestfriend, they don't even look ill! In fact, they're just hanging out laughing and chatting it up. Get out of line and let the people who are really sick in front of you. That's what I felt like saying. So anyway, Sam has chest pains and I tell her as I drop her off that is her first complaint when she gets in there so maybe they'll take her first. No such luck. We wait. And we wait some more. Finally they call her name to get an xray. When that's over... we wait some more. They call her name again and send her to this Acute Center thing... which just stands for they're going to have some wanna-be doctor look at you and send you on your way. He wasn't a real doctor. Not even a med student. I was pissed. Nonetheless, they send us on our way. During our wait in the emergency room, we spent most of the time with our mouths open in awe because of the characters that were occupying the space and stealing my air. They were all trainwrecks.

Saturday my mother, Andrew and I went to Boston. The plan was to go to the Fenway Park tour and then go on the Duck tour and then come home. We decided to do the Fenway tour first. We get there and got our tickets. I had a lot of fun on the tour. First we went into the press box and had an amazing view of the entire park. We then went to some seats outside, then we went to the green monster and finally to some sideline seats down in front. I took a lot of really good pictures and have to figure out how to post them in an album or something so you faithful readers can check them out. This is the view from the top of the green monster.

After the Fenway tour we went back over to the Prudential Center where you bought tickets for the Duck tour only to find out that they were all sold out for the rest of the day! I was not happy. We ended up going to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch. It sucked. The food was disgusting and the service was awful. We ended our day at Quincy Market. It was so hot and packed... so I was a bit cranky at this point.

Sunday was my birthday dinner with the peeps at On the Border. Good times were had by all. I really love my friends. I know I've said that on more than one occasion... but it's really true.

Well, I guess that's it. I have some more stuff to say... but it's gotta be for another day. Live the impossible. Dream the impossible. Be the impossible.

Goodnight my loves.

Sue-OUT

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

My Birthday Adventure...

It happened. I turned twenty-six today. I rang in the new year so to speak with style as usual. Last night I was a bit worried because there was a little while that I was afraid that we wouldn't be venturing out... but I was wrong. I drove over to G's to meet her and Kat. We got into G's car and started on our adventure. There were two plans on the table; the first one was to go down to Milford and hang out with some people that G sees 24/7 Monday-Friday... and the second plan was to head up to Springfield to meet up with another one of G's friends and his friend. We decided on plan two and went up to Springfield. This time, we did not encounter any crackheads in the parking lot as we tried to park the car. It was still "early" per bar time when we got there so downtown wasn't that crowded yet. You know what, I take that back. There was a kid in the parking lot that fell right behind our car when we were parking and getting ready to get out of the car. He picked himself up and then when we were walking by, he was on the ground next to what I hope was his vehicle trying to get in. Slick Rick musta forgot that the parking man had his keys... someone had a little too much to drink. So no crackheads... but drunks already at that time of night.

We crossed the street and into our new favorite place, Fat Cat's. The vibe there is great. It's very down to earth and filled with folks more our age. There wasn't a lot of barely 21 year old kids it seemed... and it was just very chill. We met up with G's friend and his friend and started the night. We went up to the bar and ordered our first drink. Three grateful deads please. None of us had ever had one but we hear people talking about them all the time so we decided to give it a try. Watching the bartender make it, I quickly realized it was going to become my drink of choice for the night. This thought was confirmed after one sip. Very strong but the flavors blended together very nicely. I sucked my first drink down quickly... afterall, it was my birthday night... and was on number 2 when the below picture was taken. After a few minutes inside we decided to head out to the patio. Now, the patio is pretty big for outside patios and it has several tables and stools. We found a table and sat down and started to shoot the shit. G's friend took this picture for us to document our night out...

Now, G's friend is a very interesting guy. He's in the same profession as G and his attitude about things is well... let's just say, he gives an interesting prospective on things. He seems to love your job... and the type of job that it is... that love is very important. His friend was a riot. He's married and they had their first baby 5 months or so ago. Very relaxing just sitting around watching all the other people chatting about bullshit. I spotted a girl wearing a tiara on her head and at first I thought she was getting married but then Kat pointed out to me that it said, "Birthday Girl"... and I thought... damn, I should have worn my tiara. I bought one a few weeks ago that says, "Princess" on it... and when I told G and Kat they said it was dumb. Don't hate on my tiara... and I am a "Princess"! Little do they know, I'm going to wear it out next Sunday when we do the peeps birthday dinner... LMAO

So getting back to the bar, I don't remember how I brought this other kid's name up. I remember injecting G's friend because he was on a roll talking "shop" talk... and asked him if he knew so and so. He gave me a funny look and said, "yes". I laughed... and then he says, "He's a few blocks over"... um ok. I went to the bathroom and came back and then he smiles and says, "so and so is coming to the bar". I thought I was going to shit my pants. This is someone I met SIX years ago... and never thought I would see again. So, the kid shows up and he's shaking everyone's hands... and he stops at me and says, "I know you"... Um yah... from like six years ago. When this little conversation is going on I can feel Kat's eyes burning into me... LOL. She then leans over and whispers, "six degrees of separation"... and I almost fell off my seat I was laughing so hard. For some of you, that's new. For most who read the myspace blog, you'll know what I'm talking about. I learned again last night how small the world really is. Too small.

Shortly after this exchange we left Fat Cat's and went across the street to The Salty Dog. Once inside the Salty Dog I needed a drink. It was kind of loud in there so I don't remember doing much talking inside there. I got a drink just before last call and then I heard last call and I felt the need to get another drink. Why? I don't know. I had a fresh drink... but I had to get another one so I didn't run out. Umm...

Kat kept demanding that I finish my drink because they were going to take it away from me if I didn't. I was hell bent on letting anyone take my Birthday drink away from me... it was MY birthday... damn it! Luckily for all involved, it did not come to that. At this moment as I sit here in my room trying to recall all of the events from last night, I can not put my finger on how many drinks I actually had. I really don't remember. Anyone have any ideas?

When we left the bar we went outside to the parking lot where G's car was parked. Kat was our DD last night and she did a great job making sure we all got home safe and sound. G's friend asked us to give him a ride to his car... ok, no problem. Umm the problem arose when we ALL went to get into G's little white Corolla. It was Kat and the "kid" in the front seat, G's friend and his friend and myself in the backseat. G was on my lap. We drive to his car. The boys get out. We start going. I have not a clue about the drive from Springfield to house one. I don't even know if I was awake. We drop the married boy off and continue on. We drop the "kid" in the parking lot at his car and continue on. Pit stop at the gas station. I had to pee. That's all I'm going to say about that. LOL. Before I knew it, we were at someone's house. Ok, it's still my birthday and I'm drunk so I'll just play along. We go inside and we see the "kid" again. ARGH! Someone handed me a beer and I turned to Kat and stuck my tongue out... because I don't drink beer... but Kat told me to, "shut up and drink it"... so I did. I then suddenly decided that I didn't want to be drunk anymore and asked for some water. Someone was nice enough to get me some. Bless their soul.

There was a little commotion at the house... so we left. I'll leave it at that. No need to share anymore. I found myself in my room with my phone at about 4:30AM. I thought I was quiet when coming in the house but apparently I wasn't. I announced that I was drunk, as if there was any denying that... took some advil and came upstairs. I'm actually glad I had sense enough to take some. So most of you that know me... know this about me- I'm a drunk dialer. Last night was no exception. I drunk dialed a few people last night. Good times. Sorry if it was you.

I woke up this morning and felt like ass. I managed to stumble out of bed for some water and just tried to make it all go away. I thought about last night... and smiled. Another night out with the girls... and another adventure for the books. Last night with the exception of the last part... was a lot of fun.

My little brother decided it would be fun to try and teach me how to play baseball. For the record, I know HOW to play... I just suck. I amazed myself today though... I managed to hit the ball! I rock.

This evening the fam and I packed up and after picking my car up from the front of G's house we went to Chuck's Steakhouse for dinner. Dinner was good... and they cooked my father's steak properly... so I was even happier. Now I'm home... tired, still a little hung over... but happy. Happy for the best friends a girl could have. Happy that I rock. Happy that they rock. Thanks to those that called, text messaged, emailed and left messages on myspace today... I love you all. The one's that didn't- shame on you. LOL LOL

Another year has passed. Another year closer to my destination. Another year full of dreams. Wow. Where did the time go? The past few years just seem to blur together and sometimes I have trouble remembering when I did what. Last year at this time I was in Seattle. What a difference a year makes! I'm not sure I've ever been as happy as I am right now. Despite not being exactly where I thought I would be in terms of my life... I'm taking strides to get there... and I'm really just excited about the future. I think sometimes it takes leaving your comfort zone and being a fish out of water to appreciate the things that really matter. I definitely learned that lesson on several levels during my time spent in Seattle.

As I stand right now- I'm very thankful for a lot of things in my life. My family. My friends. My loves. My job. My education. All of these things are what continue to make me the person that I am.

On another note, the weather sucks. It's been raining and cloudy for what seems like weeks... and I NEED MY SUN! How's a white girl supposed to get a little sun without it?! It's damn near impossible!

I hope to be having another "Adventure" with the girls tonight... but this one better involve some drinks! LOL... Whatever we do will end up being a good time. Tomorrow night is dinner with the family... Last night I had a very enjoyable dinner with a new friend. Good conversation. Laughter. Good food. Good drinks. All equal good times. More on tonight later...

"Almost" birthday girl signing off...

Sue-OUT

"Live with passion"

First Post

World,

This is my letter to you. So, I've been thinking about joining this "blog" thing for some time now... but haven't. I do have a little somethin' going on myspace... but this is going to be better than that! This is going to be life. This is going to be where you go to get my info, my dirt. HAHAHA! Funny thing though, I have to share the dirt with ya! My life. Wow, what a loaded thought. I'm living back in Connecticut after my trip across the country last year. I learned the West Coast is quite interesting... but I seem to be more of an East Cost sorta girl. I wonder why?? Maybe it's because I like to drive in the far left lane and actually pass people on the highway OR maybe it's because I actually drive at or above the speed limit? Wait, before you think I'm hatin' on my time spent there... I'm not. Just to clarify, I had an adventure and met some great folks. Hil just happens to be one of them. I love her and miss her soo much! Hil, if you're reading this... kiss the kids for me! Anyway, I digress. So, I'm back. On the East of the Coast. I have a job. LOL... I'm just a girl waitin' for school to start... so I can hurry up and finish!

As we travel down this journey we call life together... you're bound to learn more about me (probably more than you ever wanted to know)... so I'll be short and sweet tonight. I have one confession to make; I'm an avid blog reader... and I don't even have to know you! I think it's because I'm "curious" by nature... and I will NOT call that nosey- two completely different things! Anyway, I hope someone out there in this big.. bad... world we call life... finds this entertaining. And to fair warn you, I'm long winded. One more thing before I call it a night... and try and figure out how to post this thing- I have to send a shout-out to Jason. He's getting married! Jason and I go way back... Clover Street back... so good luck Proulx and many happy years to you and the soon to be Mrs. Ok, ok, I know I said one more thing before I mentioned Jason... but I have one more thing. Ems. Oh, my Ems. Ems is in Antarctica ... it's even better if you can get me to say it. I love talking to her via IM and one of these days I'm going to call her on an actual telephone. Yes, in Antarctica . The miracles of technology . She's a day plus 8 hours ahead of me and just for the record, I can NEVER remember that... but she reminds me happily every time I ask. That's a true friend. Ems is my "chosen sister"... but you'll learn more about that as we go along in our journey together.

Welcome. The ups and downs... the highs and lows... the drunk nights and the sober days.

Goodnight my loves.

Sue- OUT.

"The road to success is always under construction."
